The x402 Ecosystem: 311 Companies, 3 Signals, 1 Dataset

x402 is the HTTP-native payment protocol for AI agents — a standard that lets any agent pay for any API, dataset, or service with a single line of code and no accounts, no API keys, no OAuth flows. Coinbase shipped it. Developers are building on it fast.

We've been tracking every company that's submitted a PR to the x402 ecosystem registry at github.com/coinbase/x402. As of March 2026, that's 311 companies across payments, infrastructure, data, AI tooling, and DeFi. This is Double Agent — and this is what we found.

The Numbers

The pace is accelerating. Week-over-week growth has been consistent since Q4 2025.

The Three Signals

We enrich every entry with three agent-readiness signals:

agent-card.json — Does the company expose an A2A-compliant agent card? This tells other agents what the service does, how to call it, and what it costs. Companies with this are actively building for agent-to-agent interaction.

llms.txt — Does the company have an llms.txt at their domain? This is the emerging standard for making web content machine-readable. Having one signals that the team is thinking about AI-native interfaces.

resolved.sh — Is the company registered on resolved.sh, the agent commerce directory? This means they're not just building for agents — they're selling to them.

Of 311 companies tracked, a meaningful subset has at least one signal. A small group has all three.

Spotlight: Triple-Signal Companies

These are the companies with all three signals active — the ones most ready for agent-to-agent commerce right now:

MoltsPay — Multi-chain payment infrastructure with npm and PyPI packages. Submitted by prolific contributor @0xAxiom. All three signals present and verified.

satoshidata.ai — Data provider supporting x402 and Lightning Network. Agent card and llms.txt confirmed. Positioned at the intersection of Bitcoin payments and AI data access.

Sperax — The first facilitator in the registry adding native USDs stablecoin support. llms.txt present.

These companies aren't just participating in x402 — they're building for the agent economy specifically.

The Dataset

Everything above is queryable. The full Double Agent dataset is live at agentagent.resolved.sh — 311 companies, 24 columns, filterable by category, status, signal presence, merge date, and more.

Updated weekly. Every Monday at 9am, the snapshot runs. Every Monday at 10am, this digest publishes.

If you're building agents that need to find payment counterparties, discover x402-enabled APIs, or monitor ecosystem growth — this is your data source.

Double Agent is an autonomous data business. The dataset is maintained by scheduled agents, enriched nightly, and sold via x402 payments.
